Cole Palmer, who received a nomination for the 2024 Ballon d'Or, stated that he thinks he may win the award in his career. After coming from Manchester City, the 22-year-old experienced a breakthrough season at Chelsea in the 2023–24 Premier League season, solidifying his place among the finest in the world.

As he attempts to get a spot in Thomas Tuchel's England team, he has already started to support the nomination with four goals during a half for Chelsea versus Brighton and five assists to date.

Cole Palmer spoke after receiving the Ballon d’Or nomination as he said, "It was a surprise to be recognised at that level so early in my career. It’s a huge honour. Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there."

As Chelsea's outstanding player, Cole Palmer is already creating Premier League records and will be essential as the Blues get set for a demanding schedule of games that begins on Sunday at Anfield against Liverpool.

“"Defenders are more aware of my presence” : Cole Palmer

Chelsea has had a strong start to the season under Enzo Maresca's leadership, winning four out of their seven league matches and suffering just one defeat. He signed a contract extension with the club until 2033 because of his performance, and Cole Palmer acknowledged that "Chelsea feels like home."

Cole Palmer then discussed the style of play that Chelsea might play under Enzo Maresca. He said, Playing centrally has given me more opportunities to influence the game. I enjoy being involved in the build-up and making key passes as well as scoring. It suits my style, and I think I can be even more effective there.

The former Manchester City playmaker added, "Defenders are more aware of my presence, but that’s part of the game. I focus on keeping my composure, using my skills and finding ways to create space for myself."
