The fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool were deprived of the excitement of an early lead at Old Trafford is a great tragedy. Trent thought that he had got the opener after putting the ball inside the net and the referee initially adjudged it a goal after seeing that Diogo Dalot cleared it from inside the net.

It's also important to remember Ryan Gravenberch's crucial contribution to setting up the goal, even if Mohamed Salah's contact from an offside position caused the goal to be disallowed. The Reds launched on the attack as the Dutchman charged forcefully into enemy territory and found Luis Diaz on the left side.

What are the line-ups for Manchester United vs Liverpool?

After proving unlucky not having a goal in the season's first two games, Alejandro Garnacho gets his first start, while Amad Diallo additionally played well when starting. Although Marcus Rashford doesn't seem to be a threat offensively, his position is rarely in doubt. Mason Mount, who acknowledged that he sustained a muscle injury during the loss to Brighton, could miss up to one month of action.

Arne Slot has stuck with the lineup that defeated Brentford 2-0 just one week back for Liverpool's afternoon trip to Manchester United. Slot feels that his starting lineup is comfortable and that no adjustments are necessary at this time.
