Until Trent Alexander-Arnold signs a new contract with Liverpool, the Real Madrid connection is probably not going to end. The 25-year-old is currently within the last 12 months of his Anfield deal, which means that in January, he will be eligible to start pre-contract negotiations with teams outside of England.
According to reports, Real Madrid is considering a possible Bosman move and hopes to capture Alexander-Arnold for free in the summer of 2019. He is viewed by the Spanish team as a probable successor for Dani Carvajal, who may not be able to keep up his current level of play for much longer aged 32.
Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Virgil van Dijk were among the final group of experienced players to arrive for preseason, including Trent Alexander-Arnold. With a full roster at last for the last stretch of preseason, Arne Slot put the club through its paces on Sunday.
However, a special exchange involving Trent Alexander-Arnold as well as Darwin Nunez was captured on video at Anfield. The Uruguayan grinned and spoke to Trent as they descended the AXA stairway with Luis Diaz. The striker said, “Y el Real Madrid? Chao!”
Real Madrid seems the tempting option for everyone?
Real Madrid's approach has involved pursuing players who are close to signing contracts; this is seen in their pursuit of David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Kylian Mbappe. In recent years, Real Madrid has posed a serious threat to Liverpool on the field along with in its transfer business. Reds fans are well aware of the pain of losing two UEFA Champions League titles to Los Blancos.
When it pertains to player acquisitions, the Spanish squad has also had an advantage over Liverpool. Liverpool became interested in Aurélien Tchouaméni when he was at Monaco. Jurgen Klopp even made the personal trip to see the French midfielder in an effort to persuade him to choose Anfield. Ultimately, though, Real Madrid's iconic white uniform proved to be too alluring.
