With a victory at Ipswich on the first day, Arne Slot, the successful Reds forward, got his tenure as Jurgen Klopp's replacement off to the ideal start. At Portman Road, Liverpool won 2-0 thanks to a goal from Salah, their second of the match.

In a 2-0 victory against Brentford at Anfield, Salah also found the back of the net. This season, the three-time English Premier League Golden Boot recipient is having a successful start. Having chopped off his well-known locks, he had a new appearance and a new celebration.

Salah has explained to Men In Blazers the origin of his new performance, which involves him removing arrows from a hypothetical quiver and launching them at the crowd. He said, “I was watching the UFC, Alex Pereira against Israel Adesanya and when [Adesanya] won the second fight against Pereira – he celebrated like that. So, I like the celebration and that’s why I did it.”

Salah will be hoping that when they play Manchester United at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday, there will be even more reasons to celebrate. With 15 league and cup appearances and 14 goals scored, the 32-year-old has an outstanding record versus the Red Devils.

Italian International Federico Chiesa joins Liverpool in bargain deal

The four-year contract that Italian winger Federico Chiesa signed with Juventus has been formally announced by Liverpool. The 26-year-old winger, who can also play as a second striker, signed a contract with the Reds for an estimated initial cost of 10 million euros. Performance-related add-ons worth a further 2.5 million euros are linked to Liverpool's Champions League and Premier League success.

Chiesa completed the last stages of his transfer on Wednesday afternoon by travelling to Merseyside for his medical examination. The Italy international joined Liverpool as their second recruit under head coach Arne Slot, after the club recently acquired custodian Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, who has been projected to arrive in 2025.
