In the Carabao Cup quarterfinals, Tottenham play Manchester United, with both teams hoping to advance to the season's first major final. Spurs haven't won a trophy since the 2008 tournament, and Ange Postecoglou's team is now in 10th place in the Premier League following a run of inconsistent performances.

Ruben Amorim will understand the value of winning this competition in his first season as manager, especially though United is even farther down the standings despite their derby victory last weekend. Marcus Rashford's exclusion from the United squad before kickoff comes only days after he stated in an interview that he was prepared for a "new challenge" outside of the team.

Last weekend, Amorim left Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of his team to play Manchester City. Rashford hasn't traveled to London, even though Garnacho is listed on the bench. They may be doing it again. Tottenham is starting to fall apart when it seems impossible. When the north London team defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the League Cup quarterfinal, it looked like they were playing at home. However, the visitors smelt a classic Spurs collapse, and the lead swiftly grew to 3-2.

 Watch here the video:

Joshua Zirkzee scored the opening goal, and then Fraser Forster, the substitute goalkeeper, gave United a second goal with one of his greatest howls. Zirkzee closed him down and stole the ball to score. When the ball is returned to Forster, he takes far too long, believes he has more time than he actually does, and by the time he clears it, Amad Diallo is on him, slipping the ball into the goal. Diallo has shown great perseverance, but Forster is experiencing a terrible nightmare.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United

Tottenham made it to the Carabao Cup semi-final despite a comeback by Manchester United and their own attempts at self-destruction. In less than an hour, Ange Postecoglou's team was leading 3-0 before Spurs keeper Fraser Forster made two disastrous mistakes that allowed an improbable United comeback.

Four minutes into injury time, Forster made another mistake, giving Jonny Evans another chance to score a United third goal, but Spurs held on for the win.
