'This Club is just...' - Joshua Zirkzee explains the reason for joining the Red Devils

Manchester United's new signing, Dutch Striker Joshua Zirkzee, revealed the reason for joining the Red Devils in the current season in a recent interview.

Joshua Zirkzee has shared details about his move to Manchester United and what attracted him to the club. He mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo and Robin van Persie as his childhood idols. Zirkzee, 23, made a significant impact at Old Trafford after joining from Bologna in a reported £36.5 million deal. Despite interest from Arsenal, the former Bayern Munich youngster was secured by Erik ten Hag to strengthen United's attack.

Zirkzee explained his reason for joining Manchester United 

In an interview with Viaplay, the Netherlands international candidly admitted that while he didn't originally aspire to play in the Premier League, joining the 13-time champions was his goal.

Joshua Zirkzee shared his Premier League idols, naming Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie, and Dennis Bergkamp. 

"To be honest, not really. I watched it, but I never said to myself: I want to play in the Premier League. This club is just huge. It's the club that attracted me, not really the league." - Zirkzee explained.

Cristiano Ronaldo, known for his sensational performances during his time at Manchester United, became a club legend and won numerous accolades including five Ballon d'Or awards and five UEFA Champions League trophies. He scored 145 goals and provided 64 assists in 346 games across two spells at Old Trafford, winning a total of nine major trophies, including three Premier League titles.

Van Persie's Premier League Farewell to Sir Alex 

Robin van Persie began his Premier League journey with a different team, but ultimately left a lasting legacy at Manchester United, culminating in a well-deserved title win. In 2012, he made a controversial switch from Arsenal, where he had previously been unable to secure a Premier League victory.

During the 2012-13 season, Van Persie scored an impressive 26 goals in 38 league games, earning him the Golden Boot. His stellar performance was instrumental in leading the Red Devils to the title, marking a memorable season as the club said goodbye to the legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
