On this day 3 years ago, Global football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United for the second time in his club career.

The recipient of the Ballon d'Or five times transferred to the Premier League team, first at the age of 18 from Sporting CP in 2003 and secured three Premier League titles and the Champions League before moving to Real Madrid in 2009 for a then-record fee of £80 million.

While at Madrid, Ronaldo claimed the Champions League four additional times and also took home La Liga twice before switching to the Italian powerhouse Juve in 2018, where he secured two Serie A titles in three seasons.

Ronaldo rejoined the Red Devils for a fee of 15 million euros ($17. 7 million), with 8 million euros ($9.4 million) in add-ons. The transfer was subject to an agreement of personal terms, a visa and a medical examination.

Cristiano's Dream Comeback at Old Trafford

Cristiano Ronaldo's highly anticipated return as a Manchester United player resulted in a standout performance, with the Red Devils securing a 4-1 victory against Newcastle at an electrifying Old Trafford.

His presence created a palpable excitement among the 74,000-strong crowd, marking a notable resurgence of fervor at Old Trafford. The 36-year-old was the subject of adoring chants well before the start of the match, and his warm-up goal celebrations further highlighted the significance of his return.

Even at 36 years of age at that time, Ronaldo displayed an abundance of pace as he sprinted past Isaac Hayden to receive Luke Shaw's pass. His shot was so powerful that it easily slipped through Woodman's grasp. Ronaldo found the net two times on his returning fixture at Old Trafford and claimed the match ball, something that he had been doing consistently across various teams throughout his career.
