La Liga club Real Betis is at the forefront of efforts to secure a loan deal for Manchester United winger Antony for the remainder of the season.
Since joining United for £81.3 million in August 2022, Antony has had a tough time establishing himself as a key player, having scored 12 goals to date, including three in his opening three Premier League appearances.

Antony's dissapointing tenure at United
The 24-year-old has been going through a difficult phase, having scored only one Premier League goal since April 2023. His first-team opportunities have decreased, with a drop from 23 league starts in his debut year to 15 last season and, so far, none in the current campaign.
Antony has participated in 13 of United's 32 matches across all competitions this season, highlighting the need for him to find ways to re-establish his impact on the team moving forward.
In the match against Southampton on Thursday, he squandered a clear chance, which intensified the ongoing criticism surrounding him.
Real Betis wants to sign the Brazilian
Multiple clubs have expressed interest in Antony, and Manchester United understands they will need to subsidise his wages to facilitate a move. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are underway to finalise a temporary transfer. It’s important to note that the deal will not include an option for Betis to purchase him outright, and United will take on a portion of his wages.
If the loan deal is finalised before the January transfer window closes, the former Sao Paulo star will be determined to restore his reputation by making a significant impact for Real Betis for the remainder of the season.
