Getafe held mighty Barcelona to a 1-1 on Saturday night at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. This outcome marked yet another setback for the club in their pursuit of the title. Following the match, Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde disclosed that he experienced racist abuse during the game.
Balde lodged a police complaint against the offence of 'racist comments'
He took to Instagram to share his thoughts, emphasising that racism has no place in football or society. He called for continued efforts to eradicate such behaviour, noting it is regrettable that these issues persist even in 2025.

Balde’s remarks added an important dimension to the match, drawing attention to the ongoing fight against racism in football.
During the game against Getafe, Balde showed his class with an impressive performance, although he experienced some altercations with opposing players. This may have contributed to the negative reactions from some Getafe fans at the Colosseum in Madrid.
"Racism has no place neither in football nor in life, we have to keep fighting for these acts to disappear. It's a shame that in 2025 these things will continue to happen," he wrote on Instagram.
“I'm going to file a complaint because I received many racist insults tonight," Alejandro Balde told the press after Barca-Getafe. "I also informed the referee about that, but then again in the second half. We move on,” Balde added.
Barcelona has endured a five-year winless streak at Getafe, marking their longest away struggle at a single stadium in the 21st century.
The recent 1-1 draw against Getafe highlights their disappointing form, with the team managing only one win in their last eight matches, consisting of four defeats, three draws, and a solitary victory.
