According to reports, Newcastle United has placed Alexander Isak's asking price at an outrageous 150 million euros.
Newcastle United striker has never been approached by any team other than Chelsea. It is an attempt to prevent the Swedish international from leaving. Isak has three and a half years left on his St. James' Park deal.
In 2022, the club paid a record-breaking 70 million euros to acquire him from Real Sociedad, and they have no plans to let their best striker go for a low price. According to the source, Newcastle will not be cutting the asking price and will make an attempt to extend his contract at the end of the current campaign. Alexander Isak has been linked to transfers from teams like Liverpool and Arsenal.
With 32 Premier League goals since the beginning of 2023–24, Arsenal is the team most frequently associated with Isak. Even if the Gunners hurried up Gabriel Jesus in 2022, they haven't had a high-scoring player since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left.
Top European clubs interested to sign
If Mohamed Salah decides to leave Anfield, at the end of his contract, the Reds may try to sign Isak. It is also thought that Isak is being pursued by the European powerhouses Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain. Because of his prolific play and Newcastle's growing popularity, Isak is one of the game's most sought-after strikers. The competition for his signing is expected to take center stage during the next transfer window, regardless of whether Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, or another team would agree to Newcastle's outrageous demands.
Isak signed a six-year deal with Newcastle in the summer of 2022, which he still retains until 2028. Even if he hasn't expressed a wish to quit the team, a new and better contract will probably be required to retain the player over the long run. Discussions have already been delayed and will need to start eventually.
