Jamal Musiala drops cryptic comments over contract extension with Bayern Munich

Jamal Musiala spoke about his current deal with Bayern Munich expiring soon and he has certainly dropped a comment which will have other clubs interested.

Jamal Musiala does not rule out departing Bayern Munich once his contract expires, therefore Manchester City ought to be on high alert. As Kevin De Bruyne, the star midfielder for Manchester City, approaches the last year of his deal, the defending Premier League winners are already planning for the future. 

After his current contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in the summer of 2025, the Belgian, who has played a key role in City's supremacy over the past ten years, has been linked to a switch into the Saudi Pro League, leaving Pep Guardiola searching for his replacement. The management of Manchester City feels that Musiala has the skill and ability to replace De Bruyne, and they would certainly be happy to hear that the German midfielder has not ruled out a move to England in the future.

Musiala spoke with Welt Am Sonntag about his Bayern deal, which expires in June 2026. He said, "I'm very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals. Playing abroad like Bellingham? I'm not thinking about where I will be in five years. Things can always change quickly in the world of football."

Jamal Musial’s rise at Bayern Munich

Jamal Musiala's ascent to fame has been extremely quick. Though he was born in Germany, Musiala spent his formative years in England, where he played for Southampton and Chelsea before moving back to Germany in 2019 to become a member of Bayern Munich's junior team. In less than a year, Musiala made his Bayern senior debut and became an indispensable member of the Bavarian team. 

Musiala has proven nothing less than extraordinary since joining the first squad. In 166 games for Bayern throughout all competitions, the attacking midfielder provided 31 assists and 44 goals. Despite Musiala's prominence at Bayern Munich, the player and the team are rumoured to be at odds over a contract. Throughout the previous season, Bayern and Jamal Musiala held talks about a better contract; however, it seems that those talks came to a standstill in the summer.
