Conor Gallagher recently addressed some rumours and stories that were circulating about him and Enzo Maresca before his move to Atletico Madrid in the summer.
There have been longstanding rumours about Gallagher's potential departure from Chelsea, and it ultimately materialized with his transfer.
It's worth noting that this transfer resulted in a significant profit for Chelsea, given Gallagher's status as a product of their academy and a homegrown player. Additionally, with just a year remaining on his contract this summer, it was apparent that he would be sold.
It was rumoured that Gallagher didn't fit the playstyle of Chelsea's Gaffer Enzo Maresca because he lacked certain technical qualities and, hence, had to be sold.

Gallagher's take on the Rumours
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Gallagher discarded the rumours of not fitting into Enzo Maresca's system.
He disregarded such rumours and claimed them to be false. He believed he had a good last season with Chelsea, as evidenced by the fact that Mauricio Pochettino played him in every game, which showed the level of trust the former had in Gallagher. He was also very happy with the support, he received from Chelsea fans. Gallagher further expressed his gratitude to the fans and Pochettino for allowing him to express and show the best version of himself in the Blues.
Gallagher stated. “I don’t think that’s true personally. I think last season I had a good season with Chelsea as you could see by Mauricio Pochettino playing me every game and showing his trust in me. And the fans appreciated what I did on the pitch too.”
“I’m very grateful for all of that and very thankful to the fans. And very thankful to Pochettino for giving me that platform to go and express myself and show the best version of myself at Chelsea,” he added.
