Thomas Müller, a legendary German midfielder, offered his thoughts on the possibility of his deal with Bayern Munich being extended. Müller said in a SkySports interview that he was unsure about the future. He's aware that his physical condition is ageing, but he's determined to fight it. But as the German pointed out, this isn't about himself or the duration of the agreement.

He said, "Only the body ages. I fight against that. It's not about me or the duration of the contract. It's simple. I'm just trying to show the coach that I am also a viable option for the starting lineup."

It is noteworthy that Müller, 34, has been a member of Bayern Munich since the year 2000. In 2008, he made his first team debut. He has since participated in 684 games for Bayern in all competitions, netting 237 goals and dishing out 261 assists.

Müller has won the DFB-Pokal six times, the UEFA Champions League a couple of times and the Bundesliga championship twelve times with the team. He and the German national team won the World Cup in 2014. In addition, Thomas Müller declared his intention to retire from international football following UEFA Euro 2024.

“He gave 100% in 710 games” : Vincent Komany on Thomas Muller

After Thomas Muller's goal against Freiburg sealed his record-breaking performance, Vincent Kompany praised the forward's impact. Coming off the bench, Muller completed his 710th appearance for Bayern in all competitions, surpassing Sepp Maier's record for the most appearances for the team. The veteran German player celebrated the occasion with a goal that gave Bayern a 2-0 lead after Harry Kane's penalty kick on Sunday.

The former Burnley manager said, "Outstanding. I witnessed his first game. I was there with Hamburg on this pitch. 710 games later, it's unbelievable. He gave 100% in 710 games, but not only in the games, but also in training. That's what makes Thomas so special. There are a few more games that he can still play and we are definitely pleased that he's got a few more in his locker and the fact that he can keep going like this, it's so important for us."
