Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered a brief update on the condition of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard following the team's 1-0 victory in the North London derby over Tottenham on Sunday.

The Gunners secured a vital win, with Gabriel Magalhaes' header breaking the deadlock in the 60th minute. This victory marks their first three consecutive away wins over their local rivals since 1988.

Despite missing two key players, Arteta's side displayed a strong performance to claim all three points. Declan Rice was ineligible to play after receiving a red card against Brighton prior to the international break, while Martin Odegaard was sidelined due to injury.

Arteta's update on the Injuries of the Gunners

After the victory in north London, Arteta was asked about Odegaard's injury. The Spaniard replied saying, "We still have to wait and see about Martin. He wasn't available today."

The Gunners boss faced a new injury concern when Bukayo Saka was forced off with a minor knock in the 86th minute. He was substituted by Ethan Nwaneri shortly after Arteta made changes to his attack by bringing on Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling. "I don’t know," Arteta said on the forward.

"I made two changes with the front players and suddenly he’s down. I don’t know exactly what it is but he could not continue." - Arteta added.

Although the scale of the problem does remain to be seen, Saka could join the likes of Martin Odegaard on the treatment table. Declan Rice missed the trip to Spurs following his red card before the international break, while Odegaard sat out after injuring his ankle playing for Norway last Monday.

Gunners won the Bragging Rights Derby

In a violent derby that consisted of multiple bookings, starts and stops , Arsenal prevailed as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0. Gabriel scored the all-important winning goal, as he leapt highest to head home Saka's corner midway through the second period.

It was a fine away performance from the Gunners, who have now accumulated 10 points from their opening four matches and sit second behind Manchester City. They travel to the Etihad Stadium next Sunday in what is already looking like a massive game at the top of the Premier League table.
