According to sources, Bayern Munich and Burnley are reportedly close to agreeing on a deal for manager Vincent Kompany. Bayern have resorted to Kompany, a fluent German speaker who spent two years competing for Hamburg in the Bundesliga, following a chaotic hunt for a new manager to replace Thomas Tuchel.

Following declines from Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick, among others, the Bundesliga team has turned to the Belgian. Bayern Munich, reportedly to a source, believes Kompany is interested in joining the club if a deal with Burnley is done, although they have yet to agree. Bayern would additionally be happy to have Kompany's backroom personnel, notably former Wales attacker Craig Bellamy, join him at the club.

Burnley hired Kompany in 2022, following his time in control of Belgian Pro League club Anderlecht. He guided Burnley towards the Championship title during his debut season, finishing with 101 points. They finished 19th in their comeback to the Premier League and are going to compete in the Championship next year.

Last summer, Kompany was linked with employment at Chelsea and Tottenham, but he ultimately stayed at Turf Moor. Pep Guardiola has also predicted that the former Belgium international defender will eventually join Manchester City. Kompany played 11 years at the Etihad Stadium, collecting ten major awards, notably four Premier League titles. In 2019, he left to return to Anderlecht, first as a player manager.

Kompany to strike a deal with Bayern Munich soon!

Kompany is expected to take charge at Bayern after the club's worst season in over a decade. They finished third in the Bundesliga, trailing winners Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart, their lowest league showing since 2011.Bayern also concluded their campaign without any trophy after losing in a tight UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.

In February, the club announced that Tuchel would be departing at the end of the campaign. A mending of tensions among Tuchel and Bayern resulted in attempts to rescind the decision earlier in the month, but after the talks failed, Bayern shifted their focus to Kompany. Burnley will be compensated, as Kompany is under agreement until 2028.
