Hwang Ui-jo, the South Korean football player, has issued a public apology for surreptitiously filming his partners' intercourse. According to the BBC, prosecutors claimed that between June and September 2022, the 31-year-old striker recorded private moments with two of his lovers four times without their permission.

The Korea Times reported that the football player was given a four-year prison sentence by the prosecution.  Mr. Hwang apologized during his initial appearance in court in Seoul on Wednesday, saying that he felt "deeply sorry" for bringing "disappointment." Mr. Hwang left Nottingham Forest in England last month to join Alanyaspor in Turkey.

In an effort to blackmail Mr. Hwang, his sister-in-law shared the recordings on social media in June of last year, which led to their discovery. After Hwang sued her, she was later given a three-year prison sentence in September.

Prosecutors pressed charges versus Hwang for unlawfully recording the videos in spite of the blackmail case. To prevent more injury, they refused to make details about the ladies implicated public. Mr. Hwang was scheduled to be sentenced on December 18, 2024.

During his court appearance he said, "I will not do anything wrong in the future and will do my best as a footballer. I sincerely apologize to the victims affected by my actions, and I am deeply sorry for the disappointment I have caused to everyone who has supported me."

Son Heung-Min’s father found guilty of child abuse

Son Heung-min, is the captain of Tottenham Hotspur and a renowned figure in world football. His father has been recently found guilty of verbally and physically abusing young football players at his Korean academy. The Chuncheon district court fined Son Woong-jung, Son Heung-yun, and an unidentified coach three million won (£1,700) on Friday and ordered them to complete 40 hours of instructional programs.

Son senior denied any misconduct and told court that he "never spoke or acted in a way that was not based on love for children" following the charges against him and the other two instructors. Despite this, the former South Korean international apologized in court and promised to reevaluate teaching practices at the academy, which launched in 2021 after the Spurs star made a substantial financial commitment.
