Ange Postecoglou positive about Bentancur's return

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has shared that midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is eager to demonstrate growth and make amends following his suspension. As he gears up for his return against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day, Bentancur is focused on contributing positively to the team.

He has been sidelined for the past seven club games due to a Football Association ban related to comments made about his teammate Son Heung-min, and he is determined to come back stronger.

The head coach, Postecoglou, has felt the impact of the Uruguayan's absence. The month of December has proven challenging, marked by injuries and erratic performances from the squad.

"They know we’re in a tough moment and, for Rodrigo, it has been even more frustrating because it’s not an injury which has kept him out. As I’ve said, he made a mistake, served his punishment now and wants to help the team." Ange said.

Tottenham's joint-top scorer, Brennan Johnson, who has netted 10 goals this season, has recently been on the bench for a few matches despite his solid performance. Spurs manager Postecoglou has emphasized that Johnson has already done everything necessary to secure a starting role.

Dejan Kulusevski’s impressive goal-scoring form has earned him a starting position on the right wing, but Postecoglou is ready to make a bold change at the City Ground. He is set to introduce Bentancur and Johnson into the lineup, replacing Bissouma and Sarr.

"Obviously we have the balance of the team and we’ve had Deki there and Deki has done well, scored in the last five games. It is just the balance of the team. Part of it is again, we don’t have a lot of options up there and it is about managing that load" Ange added.
