Erling Haaland's reaction to making an incorrect spelling error on Instagram was deemed humorous by fans. As Manchester City got ready for the next stop of their USA Tour, the player captioned a selfie he took with teammate Jack Grealish, saying, "Ornaldo next."
Haaland replied after several admirers pointed out his spelling error. He said, “Orlando******** Not even allowed to write something wrong now in this perfect world sorry to all the brothers and sisters out there.”
Even Cristiano Ronaldo fans took a little bit of offence as it was the wrong spelling of the former Manchester United legend and it could have easily been interpreted as ‘Ronaldo next’. The supporters let their feelings known to the Manchester City striker and was brutally trolled all over social media.
Manchester City's next match is against FC Barcelona at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Then, they play Chelsea in Columbus, Ohio, to end their tour. The team led by Pep Guardiola has dropped its opening two matches of the tour. They lost 3-2 against AC Milan in New York after being defeated 4-3 against Celtic in North Carolina.
“It’s difficult to be sharp if you play over 70 games” : Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City, has cautioned that forcing players to participate in 70 games in a year will not make them "sharp." While the Norway international has had a great summer holiday, several of the players who served in Germany found it difficult to return to their peak performance at the end of a demanding season.
He said, “We all saw in the Euros as well in general how tired people were. You could see the level, you could see even in people’s faces how tired they were of football, if you can say it that way.”
The former Borussia Dortmund superstar added, “That’s how it will be as well this season, not in the start, though maybe for some because some will not get a lot of vacation. But that’s the way we’re going now, I don’t think we can be sharp in every single game. We can try, but it’s difficult to be sharp if you play over 70 games a year.”
