On Saturday night, Manchester City suffered their second defeat of their USA trip as AC Milan defeated the Premier League winners 3-2 in New York. Pep Guardiola's team took the lead thanks to Erling Haaland, but the Italians took the lead after the break thanks to a swift brace from Lorenzo Colombo.

At Yankee Stadium, Marco Nasti's crisp finish sealed the victory after James McAtee's close-range goal brought the score back to even. Since there aren't many seasoned professionals, who have been this Manchester City's true foundation over several seasons, the 2024 trip is one where those who are on the outside can make an impression.

Although it would be inaccurate to say that Oscar Bobb belongs in that group—City would not have won the title last season without his decisive goal against Newcastle United—he still has another level to go and is benefiting from his time in the States.

After a goal as well as two assists during the first friendly, the team's performance versus AC Milan in New York in the first half was spectacular. Bobb looked dangerous for much of the evening, assisting Erling Haaland with a fantastic ball for Manchester City's first goal. He cruised past players before finding the ideal pass.

Jack Grealish set to lose spot to youngsters?

Savinho, who has joined City, claims that his ideal spot is wide right, therefore there may be a real fight amongst the two young players. Additionally, it might allow Bernardo Silva to play a more central role, giving Guardiola even more alternatives. But other than that, it was a boring evening as Jack Grealish had a difficult 90 minutes and a team that was dominated by academy graduates failed to have any impact on the match.

Grealish's performance against AC Milan did little to encourage confidence, though. He only managed one touch inside the opposition box and failed to create a single opportunity. Yes, he displayed the kind of risk-averse playmaking that Guardiola values and was clean with the ball. However, he lacked the distinctive attacking spark that occasionally made him some good.
