Endrick Real Madrid history

Endrick of Real Madrid is making headlines already, having finally joined the team this summer after leaving Palmeiras. Due to his impressive achievements, Carlo Ancelotti has selected the young player to start against Lille in the UEFA Champions League this season.

The Brazilian sensation has already shattered a record before the ball has even been kicked. Endrick has become the youngest starting in a match in the Champions League since Raúl versus Ajax in September 1995, at the age of eighteen years and seventy-three days.

In the 2024/25 Champions League, Real Madrid and Lille will play their second league stage encounter. Nearly two hours before kickoff, Carlo Ancelotti revealed his starting lineup, which includes one major surprise.

Endrick Felipe's Real Madrid career has required him to exercise patience thus far. He hasn't been given the chance to start a game until recently, despite a few strong cameos off the bench. Against Lille, Ancelotti has given him the chance to make an early impression by starting Rodrygo Goes on the bench in his stead.

Eduardo Camavinga is also starting for the very first game this campaign, after returning from a knee injury, he replaces Luka Modric as an additional alteration from Sunday’s Madrid derby tie. The third and last change is a forced one, where Andriy Lunin takes the place of Thibaut Courtois, who was injured.

Who all are in the starting XI for Real Madrid vs Lille?

Due to his early return from a thigh injury, Kylian Mbappe was an unexpected addition to Real Madrid's roster for this game. He is not well enough to start, therefore he joins Rodrygo and Luka Modric on the substitutes bench.

Given that the players just participated in a very physical and grueling Derby match against Atletico de Madrid, it will be crucial for Ancelotti and the rest of his staff to control the players' weariness. Real Madrid ought to win against Lille, but they'll need to put on a strong showing.

Real Madrid starting XI: Andriy Lunin, Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Endrick, Vinicius Jr.
