Pedro Neto, a forward for Wolverhampton Wanderers, is expected to cost Chelsea 36 million euros. Pedro Neto is set to join Chelsea ahead of the forthcoming Premier League season, as the club is once again active in the transfer market. However, Pedro Neto will undergo a medical examination before being announced and joining Enzo Maresca's team.

During the summer transfer window, Pedro Neto had interest from Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham but Chelsea managed to push more to get his services off at Stamford Bridge. During last season Pedro Neto made 20 appearances for Wolves and scored two goals and nine assists. Due to his hamstring injuries, he missed most of the matches for the club.

In 2019 Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Pedro Neto from Lazio and since then Pedro Neto has made 135 appearances and scored 14 goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers. After two previous bids were rejected, Chelsea ultimately reached an agreement with Wolves for an original 60 million euro cost plus 3 million euros in add-ons.

Chelsea adding power to the squad

He was also picked in Portugal's squad for the EURO 2024. He played in all three matches of the group stage as Portugal advanced to the round of 16 and later into the quarter-finals. But he was on benched for both occasions. In March 2022, Neto signed a new five-year contract with the Wolves, which is valid through the summer of 2027. When Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe departed the team that summer, Arsenal was in negotiations to sign Neto, with the Portuguese player their primary choice. Neto stayed at Wolves, while Pepe went on loan to Nice later in the transfer window.

The entire summer, Chelsea has been searching for a new winger, preferably one who plays on the left side, to increase Enzo Maresca's offensive options. Since then, when healthy, Neto has established himself as one of the Premier League's most dangerous wingers; nevertheless, Chelsea may only find just one area of contention.
