Dani Olmo has unfortunately been sidelined for Barcelona's upcoming match against Benfica due to a muscle injury. The talented midfielder experienced discomfort during the recent game against Getafe, and medical examinations conducted this Sunday have confirmed it as a right soleus overload.
Dani Olmo ruled out of the UEFA Champions League fixture
Following the match, Olmo informed the medical team about some discomfort related to his soleus muscle. Subsequent tests conducted at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper confirmed an overload in that area.
While the injury is not considered very serious, Dani Olmo will need to sit out the upcoming fixture against Benfica as the team prepares for their trip to Lisbon the next day. Once back from Lisbon, the medical team will conduct further evaluations to determine his recovery status and whether he will be available for the match against Valencia.

Although Dani Olmo is not a regular starter, the loss of Olmo is a substantial setback for Barcelona's manager Hansi Flick, who now must find an appropriate replacement for the vital Champions League clash in Lisbon against Portuguese club Benfica.
Those close to the player are remaining hopeful, recognising that some of the discomfort may arise from the pressures associated with the extended registration process. This situation may have taken a toll on the player from Terrassa.
The Spanish midfielder has so far scored 5 goals for the Catalans in the current season of La Liga, including an assist in the UEFA Champions League.
"Dani Olmo has a right soleus (lower calf muscle) strain. He is out for the next match and his return will be determined by his recovery." read the club statement.
