Adrien Rabiot recently signed with Olympique Marseille, but before Andrea Berta, the sporting director, knocked, he had the chance of playing for Atletico Madrid. Bruno Satin, Rabiot's agent, has disclosed that although talks were initiated, they were never completed because of the player's mother's and representative's strange demands.

The career of Adrien Rabiot has always been fraught with controversy. The footballer was previously punished by the French Football Federation for declining to be included on the World Cup 2018 reserve roster. In addition, he had a difficult farewell to PSG, as the two sides argued when the team made Rabiot's choice to not renew publicly. He recently signed with Olympique Marseille following five years at Juventus.

It is strange that someone of Rabiot's ability could not sign a contract with a club sooner, especially because he was available for free. That being said, his choice to join the opposition is even more unexpected coming from a PSG youth product. Bruno Satin of 'BS&Partners' said that Rabiot's mother and representative were to blame for the catastrophe.

While speaking to RMC Sport, the agent said, "Rabiot's situation is the result of the people who accompany him. Is it normal that Adrien Rabiot, a regular in the French team, goes to Marseille? He is advised by his mother and in this case, it shows that it’s better to be accompanied by professionals because if he had been accompanied by a pro, he would be in a European Top 10."

“She explained to me where her son should play” : Atletico Madrid Sporting Director

The representative went on to say that Atletico Madrid, who recently signed Conor Gallagher, wanted to sign the Frenchman as well.  The agent added that, “I saw the sporting director of Atletico Madrid at the end of July. He told me ‘I had two conversations with the mother, I stopped immediately because she explained to me where her son should play.’ It quickly tires all the professionals, it’s unbearable,”

Veronique Rabiot has faced criticism before; in the past, former president Noel Le Graet accused her of skipping meetings in which Rabiot and the 'FFFF' were negotiating Rabiot's readmission into the French national team.
