Girona set for a big season in La Liga and UEFA Champions League
Expectations are big for Girona during 2024–25 after a fantastic season that saw them finish third in 2023–24. They are definitely weaker after they had to sell Artem Dovbyk as well as Aleix Garcia. But at least their opening-week 1-1 tie with Real Betis shows they can still compete. At the Benito Villamarin, they had 13 shots and 61% of the possession.
Girona faced an enormous problem as a result of this. Given that they will soon have to balance the UEFA Champions League alongside their domestic duties, the season will have many difficult games.
