Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been one of the finest footballers of this generation. The former Arsenal striker currently plays for Olympique Marseille and has performed well for the club and rewarded back as well. He has been declared Europa League Player of the Season for his remarkable performance in the league. The experienced forward defeated Atalanta's final hat-trick hero Ademola Lookman and Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz for the top accolade. 

The former Barcelona attacker scored ten goals in 11 starts, including a hat-trick against Ajax as the French giants advanced to the competition's semi-finals. He was left in tears after the French club lost to Atalanta in the knockout stages of the game. The Gabonese international also achieved a milestone as he became the competition's all-time top scorer with 34 goals, beating the record held by Colombian forward Radamel Falcao. 

He regained his form after being a drop at Chelsea and previously at Catalonia. He re-defined in France, where he was also adjudged the best African player in Ligue 1, winning the Marc Vivien Foe award. According to his performance, some teams are eyeing for the forward to join them. Clubs in Italy, MLS and Saudi Arabia have shown interest in signing the striker in the next season. 

Is Aubameyang set to travel to Saudi Arabia?

But as things stand he has a contract left of two years with the French club. During his time at Barca was linked to joining a Saudi Arabia club. The Saudi Pro League has recently become a destination for some European stars nearing the end of their careers, offering massive salary deals as they aim to become a big power in world football.

Previously Inter Milan, AC Milan, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce are all interested in Aubameyang. Several other high-profile players have been connected with moves to the Middle East, with Aubameyang the latest one to be added to the list. The transfer window is yet to open and it will be interesting to see if the French club matches with the offers of the Middle East clubs to keep the Gabon international.
