Arsenal set sights on Joshua Kimmich amidst transfer chaos

Bayern Munich has made it clear to Joshua Kimmich that he needs to return to the negotiation table immediately if he wants any chance of securing a new contract at the Allianz Arena.

The 30-year-old skipper of Germany has been with Bayern for nearly a decade, joining the Bavarian giants from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2015. Kimmich has played over 400 games for Bayern and secured 20 trophies, including eight Bundesliga titles.

Joshua set to leave Bayern amidst interest from Arsenal

Joshua's tenure in Munich is on the brink of concluding as his contract expires on June 30. Bayern initially offered Kimmich a new deal, but that proposal has since been retracted due to the player’s uncertain response. According to BILD, Bayern is firm in its stance and has made it clear that it will not increase its previous offer. They are only willing to reconsider the original deal if specific conditions are met.

Bayern Munich had initially presented Joshua Kimmich with a new contract offer; however, it appears that this proposal has been withdrawn following the player's mixed reactions. According to BILD, the club has decided not to enhance their previous offer but is open to revisiting the original deal under certain circumstances. It was reported that Bayern's initial extension would keep Kimmich’s current salary intact. However, his requests regarding a signing bonus did not align with the club's expectations.

Arsenal has reportedly shown interest in acquiring midfielder Joshua Kimmich on a free transfer, according to Sky in Germany. The Gunners have engaged in discussions regarding this potential move. Kimmich's hesitance to renew his contract with Bayern Munich may be influenced by this interest from Arsenal. 

Should Kimmich join, he would likely succeed Jorginho, who is expected to depart the Emirates Stadium when his contract concludes at the end of June. Joshua Kimmich is believed to have made his offers known to Bayern Munich.
