Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 features an adrenalin fueled campaign and great character customization

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 might not have made records, but the game features an incredible old-school campaign, which is highly appreciated by many. The Warhammer franchise is vast, and the game provides a very good adaptation of that grim future. It does take some focus to notice these things and can be missed easily.

The game continues the story of Demetrian Titus from the original Space Marine game. While having the knowledge of the previous game helps understand some things, it isn’t strictly necessary as the game follows its own unique campaign.

The story campaign can be played solo with two bots or with two other friends in co-op. One can argue that playing the campaign on easy mode can be a bit disappointing as it can feel a bit short. A normal run can take anywhere between 12–15 hours depending on various factors, while other difficulty higher than that will require effort more than just button mashing.

Space Marine 2 is the most successful Warhammer game ever launched. It does not give players too much to think or choices to make. The game simply let players experience war where they are just a cog in the machine. Without spoiling the ending, the developers did leave it in a spot for further expansion, be it through a DLC or new game.

Beyond campaign

Apart from the campaign, players can either do PvE operations that can allow players to level up different subclasses and unlock customization. There is no way to buy your way through the drip, so grind is necessary. As of now, there are six different operation that can be player with up to three friends.

The other option is the eternal war PvP which doesn’t do anything new, but is still fun despite some questionable class and weapon balance. More maps for both PvP and operation are announced in the roadmap by the devs.

Customization

The bread and butter of Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, everything you do is for the emperor and your shiny armour. Space Marine 2 features a vast amount of customization option from every Astartes Chapters. Not everything is present, but there are still a lot of options. There is also a season pass that will introduce addition armours and will likely add missing items.
