The sequel to the original Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine is set to release in a month and ahead of launch, the developers have revealed the minimum and recommended set of requirements for PC gamers. The recommended specs are not over the top, allowing many fans to run the game at mostly high settings, while the lower-end specs are also generous for people who do not have the latest hardware.

A few of the requirements are the same, a 64-bit processor, 75 GB SSD storage space, Windows 10/11 64-bit and Direct X version 12. These basic requirements generally remain the same throughout different games. The main ones that affect most of the gameplay experience are listed below.

Minimum

Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8600K
Graphics - 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 580 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
Memory - 8 GB RAM

Recommended

Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / Intel Core i7-12700
Graphics - 8 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
Memory: 16 GB RAM

Having the lower-end configuration will enable players to play the game on 1080p at the lowest preset in the game, however, it will barely be playable for PC gamers as the expected FPS is around 30. As for recommended specifications, players can run the game on 1080p at ultra preset and can expect 60 FPS.

A few may argue that only 30 FPS with a minimum requirement to play the game is bad, but do note that the GPU was released back in 2016. A lot of people have now upgraded thanks to the brutal requirements of modern AAA games.

As per the July 2024 Steam Hardware survey, RTX 3060 is currently the most popular GPU while the next six in line are an upgrade from GTX 1060, so the majority of the players will be fine. Furthermore, these are raw numbers and the game will likely utilize DLSS or FSR, which can further help increase FPS.
