Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to release on March 20, however, leaked copies of the game were recently being streamed online. Ubisoft quickly took down the steams and clips floating around, it’s the internet and people can still find more. Following the incident, Ubisoft addressed the situation in an official statement.
“We are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release. The development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch and any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game,” Ubisoft wrote.
“Leaks are unfortunate and can diminish the excitement for players. We kindly ask you not to spoil the experience for others. Thank you to our community for already taking steps to protect everyone from spoilers,” they added.
No the final build of Assassin’s Creed Shadows
As per Ubisoft, the gameplay footage leaked was from a previous build of the game. Ever since its announcement, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed twice so the gameplay is likely from an earlier build which was criticized the first time Ubisoft showcased the gameplay.
Over the last few months, reports say that there have been a lot of improvements some of which were visible across new combat gameplay. However, it is hard to say anything until the release after players try the game across various systems.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is already in hot waters regarding historical accuracy, however, the biggest factor affecting people’s judgment seems to be Ubisoft’s reputation which has degraded over the last few years with below-expectation releases.
