Along with the Black Ops 6 Season 1 update, the developers have also made updates to the Ricochet anti-cheat in order to combat disruptive behaviour. This will supposedly help them detect players that are creating problems like AFK farming to boost XP, along with people trying to region-hop using VPNs. Appropriate actions will now be taken.

Furthermore, the developers have also added 50 match-made multiplayer match requirements if players want to unlock ranked play in Black Ops 6. “This ensures that players are experienced with multiplayer before they enter the mode and gives Team RICOCHET a historical match history to examine before an account enters Ranked Play,” the team said.

Not only that, the team will also use these match replays of top players as part of the investigation process to further improve the Ricochet anti-cheat, which is quite necessary to keep updated with the cheaters.

Detection systems initially deployed at launch from Team RICOCHET to collect data to test for effectiveness will be activated to help flag accounts for action beginning with Season 01. The security system updates will also be active for Ranked Play in, which launches at mid-season.

Low confidence in Ricochet's anti-cheat

Ricochet anti-cheat has already gained a bad reputation for not working properly despite being a kernel-level anti-cheat. Most recently, a report revealed that a hacker banned thousands of innocent players using an exploit in the anti-cheat.

The hacker also revealed that they could have done this indefinitely if they steered away from popular content creators or big names. Activision quickly fixed the exploit, but confidence regarding the anti-cheat has since been lowered. Although not as bad as other games, hackers still roam in abundance across Call of Duty Warzone or sometimes in multiplayer.
