Recently, one of the most famous blockbuster games from Play station, ‘The Last of Us Part 2’ was remastered and released on PC. But it became the victim of game piracy, and the video game pirates have already stolen the cracked version. It is now on Torrent for a free download, which was shocking for the makers. The game was released, and within hours, it was cracked and fell into the hands of pirates. So it didn’t even cross one full day on the digital shelves.

Game Piracy a Big Threat

Many Video game pirating organisations like 'Fit Girl Repack' have announced their own version of the game on their social media handles. As of now, 20,000 active players are playing The Last of Us Part 2 on Steam, according to their Database. If the players buy them online, the numbers will be even higher. But LOU is not the first game franchise to fall victim.

In January, Marvel’s Spiderman 2 was cracked in just two minutes of its release, and after that, more than 300,000 people attempted to download the crack file. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which was released with a 30% discount, was also cracked within hours of its release. The biggest reason these games fell victim to Piracy was not having Denuovo software included with the download.

This software is a digital rights management system that prevents the game from being stolen by game pirates. But this will reduce the performance of the game and spoil the gaming experience. So many game developers avoid these at the expense of game piracy.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released as a Play Station 4 exclusive game, and it has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. We still don't know the exact reason why Sony is refusing to do that. But till then, PC cracks will always appear in Torrents and  on Pirate websites.
