Get to know a little more about the new Ghost protagonist Photograph: (Sucker Punch)
The PlayStation page for Ghost of Yotei has now added more details regarding the game ahead of its planned 2025 release. Featuring an incredible-looking open world, the game is already shaping up to be one of the biggest releases this year on PS5. First revealed back in 2024, the game is a sequel to ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ taking place 300 years after.
“300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, a new warrior – Atsu – rises from the ashes of her homestead. Filled with fury and determination, Atsu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge,” the game description says giving us a brief idea of what our new protagonist, ‘Atsu’, is fighting for, however, things are likely to go deeper.
Throughout the journey, players will be taking on odd jobs to earn coins for survival and progress towards their goals. However, the description also said that players will have the freedom to do things how they want which can make up for an interesting journey.

Ghost of Yotei improves heavily upon Ghost of Tsushima
As the name suggests, the game will be taking place in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei. There is a lot to uncover and the current descriptions only provide a small picture with an incredible environment building something which the original game was highly praised for.
There are also a lot of new additions as per Sucker Punch including improvement upon older mechanics while introducing new ones. The addition of new weapons in Ghost of Yotei will also give players something to master.
The sudden update to the website can also mean PlayStation and Suckerpunch may be getting ready to reveal a new trailer and release date for the game. Death Stranding 2 by Kojima Productions is another exclusive title coming to PS5 in June so it’s fair that PlayStation also starts hyping their first-party offering.
