Vitality and FaZe witness a huge upset at Counter Strike Esports World Cup as the teams have lost their quarterfinals against Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere. Winners have now moved on to the semifinals with Virtus.pro all set to go against G2 Esports while NaVi will face MOUZ.

The opening game between Vitality and VP was one of the most intense game at the Esports World Cup, rivalling the MLBB Mid-Season Cup grand finals. From the beginning, it was a well-matched game with VP bringing the game into match point, however, Vitality managed to secure overtime.

While overtimes are not much of a big deal, the teams went on for a triple with Vitality finally managing to beat VP of their map pick. The team went into the second game with an advantage, however, what came after was pretty baffling to all fans.

Vitality managed to secure an early lead in the first half of the second game. Things took a drastic turn as the team failed to defend their own map and failed to secure even a single round in the second half, despite ZywOo’s best effort. VP equalized the score to bring the game into a decider. Once the performance declined for Vitality, it carried over to the decider game, with Vitality failing both attack and defence.

Two titans clash at Esports World Cup

NaVi Vs FaZe was likely the most anticipated game, with many believing the game was evenly matched. NaVi took a small lead in the first half. FaZe followed up soon in the second half, however, NaVi managed to squeezed two back to back rounds to secure the game.

The following match also saw a similar opening, with NaVi in the lead. However, FaZe made a comeback in the second half, where NaVi barely survived and managed to clutch the game into overtime. Once everything was reset, the team had time to switch gears and did not let FaZe take a single round in the overtime, securing the second game.
