A full week ahead of the conclusion of the Esports World Cup, Team Falcons have managed to secure the top spot in the Club Championship rankings. Not only Falcons are on the top spot, they currently possess more than double the amount of points compared to Team Liquid in second spot.

This is all thanks to multiple tournament top spots, including the championship trophy in Call of Duty: Warzone and Free Fire, alongside runner-up spot in Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Apex Legends. Team Falcons also managed to secure top three across three events and all-over displayed an impressive performance.

With a total of 4160 points it is current not possible for any other organization to catch up with this score with a week of the remaining few events. Team Liquid, who is current on the second spot is primed to take home $4 million, however, they are yet to secure a championship in an event and the competition is going to be tough for the next few days.

Championship under controversy

While there are celebrations all around, there have been some controversy around Team Falcons winning the Club Championship. Multiple users have expressed their displeasure by claiming that Falcons had teams across almost every event, which is the main reason for their success.

While true, this does come under unfair practice, as no organizations were exempted from having a team limit at the Esports World Cup. In-fact, the club program allowed other orgs to have a few more teams across other events. So while the other controversies around the event may hold some weight, this one does not feel like a just argument.
