GTA 6 and Xbox Series S

The latest earnings call for Take-Two revealed some important things fans were dying to know. These included the release window for GTA 6, the total sale of various titles, and more. Another thing that fans may be happy to hear is that the T2 CEO is also not worried about the performance of GTA 6 on Xbox Series S.

Strauss Zelnick said that they will support the platform as long as there are players, regardless of how different the tech is. This statement comes due to some fans being sceptical of Xbox Series S being able to run GTA 6 properly.

“I’m not really worried. I’ve never worried about where the hardware was going. And I’ve said this many times over the years because, first of all, I don’t worry about things over which I have zero control. Secondly, I believe in the audience. The audience is going to show up if you have great properties, and so we just have to make sure to be on an array of platforms,” Zelnick said.

The Series S was released as weaker but cheaper counterpart of the Xbox Series X which is already having a hard time matching PS5 performance. A recent analysis from Digital Foundry also claimed that GTA 6 will likely not run at 4k 60fps in PS5 Pro as the game is heavily dependent on CPU rather than GPU.

This was the reason why fans were worried about the performance on Series S. While Zelnick didn’t necessarily say how GTA 6 will run well enough on Series S. Maybe the users will not get every feature, but we will have to wait and see.

Zelnick mentions PC as an important platform

Talking about making things work, the CEO of Take-Two also mentioned that they are also watching growth across PC, and he deems it as an important platform. “I do think PC will continue to be a more and more important part of the console business going forward, and that isn’t complicated for us to support at all,” he said.

He further said that they will make the tech work as long as there is enough audience. It is currently unknown if GTA 6 will launch on PC along with the console. The general release from Rockstar Games suggests now but fans are still hopeful. The second trailer might tell which platforms are included in the Fall 2025 release.
