Indus Battle Royale, the first BR game made in India by SuperGaming to rival other games like BGMI and Free Fire Max, is currently running in Open Beta and has introduced a new Grudge mechanic. As the name suggests, it is based around revenge, with the game being PvP. The system allows players to try and match with the players who previously eliminated them.

Everyone wants to take revenge on someone who bested them previously but rarely do players get this chance. This new system as per SuperGaming adds to the competitive spirit of players and gives them a chance at revenge in the new matches.

The system is quite simple, the game will try to match players who have previously played together. While it wasn’t clearly stated, we assume this will be possible if the player is also online at the same time and looking for a match. This shouldn’t be a problem, as players will likely collect a lot of grudges against others through the many games they play.

How does a Grudge mechanic work?

Before entering a match, players will choose their roles, either hunter or defender. As the name suggests, hunters are the ones looking for those who previously eliminated them. To help them track their target, the initial eject from the vehicle will give them a notification.

As for defenders, they will get the notification only when their hunter is nearby, allowing them a chance to defend themselves. Do note that pursuing the grudge target isn’t strictly a requirement but is added as a feature to give players a chance to get even.

A tournament based around Grudge mechanics

With the introduction of the new mechanic, SuperGaming has also announced Grudge Wars Esports Tournament. All players who have access to the beta can take part in the tournament, with the grand finals taking place on September 20 and will feature a prize pool of Rs 10 lakh.
