With the rapidly growing globalisation, the Esports industry is seen to have evolved manifold. This increase is evident across countries all over the world. A similar trait of recognition for esports has been witnessed by the general manager of TENCENT Esports, Mars Hou as well. The rapidly growing sector has captured the attention of most of the demographics and has gained the support of numerous nations worldwide.

The growth of this industry is not always constant and has its dynamic ups and downs from time to time. With the further development of globalization, it is important to dwell upon more important topics which are likely to influence Esports. Some of those are cultural disparities, differences between sports and esports, and structural changes in the industry that will gradually influence those who practice esports globally. Mars Hou has highlighted that the power of Esports companies is also limited but TENCENT would try to collaborate with industry experts to help improve prospects for Esports.

First step towards the new era

TENCENT Esports has been known to previously collaborate with the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, alongside collaborating with 200 domestic ecological partners. TENCENT has taken the initiative to ‘go global’ and organise the ‘Empower Esports Worldwide Series.’ This is with the view of bridging the gap between the domestic and international ecosystem for esports.

This would help Chinese esports to hold hands with the world and help with the development of the global esports industry. Hou announced the first batch of overseas sites for the Empower Esports Worldwide Series in Saudi Arabia, France, and Japan, and invited overseas partners to come to China. The primary goal of this is to share industry experience and promote cultural growth in Esports.
