Hazelight Studios’ latest game ‘Split Fiction’ is set to release on March 6 Pacific time and ahead of that, the game is already soaring through Steam's global best-seller charts. The game is another signature co-op adventure game from the studio that further expands on the formula. Early reviews from critics are already looking solid.
As of now, the game is currently in the 3rd spot of Steam's global best-seller, right behind Monster Hunter Wilds, which recently sold over 8 million copies in just three days. The game has also overtaken REPO, the recently hit physics-based Indie game, which also gained a lot of traction among gamers. Pre-downloads for the games are now also active.

Split Fiction joins Game of The Year race
The gamers have yet to get their hands on Split Fiction; however, critic reviews are up and off to a very strong start. As per the reviews, the game features another incredible story and expands much more on the cooperative side from Hazelight Studios’ last game, ‘It Takes Two’.
Jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds was already shaping up to be a similar but unique experience and the game reportedly doubles down on the co-op action. Looking at the all-around hype for the game, this will be the third Game of the Year contender of 2025, following Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds.
Last year, Astro Bot turned out to be an absolute banger and roped in several GOTY awards and the player preference over the last few years might bring Hazelight their second GOTY with only three games under their belt.

Split Fiction Friend’s Pass counters pricing issues
The game is priced at $50 or Rs 2,500; however, the game also features a Friend’s Pass, meaning only one person has to purchase the game. As long as anyone has made the purchase, the other can simply download the game and play completely free regardless of the platform. This also means the one with the game can help those who can’t afford one.
