Monster Hunter Wilds has outdone its predecessors with 8 million sales in just three days of launch. With the game pulling in incredible numbers on launch day in between the reports of companies providing day-offs across Japan, the game’s success was already apparent. This also makes MH Wilds the fastest-selling Capcom game.
“Hunters, thank you so much for 8 million copies sold for Monster Hunter Wilds in just three days since launch. This is just the start for the next generation of Monster Hunter, and we look forward to taking the next steps with you, including event quests, title update 1 in early April, and more,” the post wrote.
Monster Hunter Wilds breaking previous records
Before Wilds, Monster Hunter: World sold five million copies in three days, while Monster Hunter Rise sold 4 million copies in three days. It became the 8th game on Steam to cross 1 million concurrent player counts and reach the top five in the same category. With this, Monster Hunter Wilds is already shaping up to be a game of the year contender.
That said, while Monster Hunter Wilds is extremely fun, the PC port does need more optimization. A lot of requests under the post were regarding the same issue, as most players fall around the recommended specs for PC. Unfortunately, despite having recommended specs or even above, the game fails to hit a constant 60fps.

PC players forced to compromise on settings
Despite pulling in numbers, Monster Hunter Wilds sits at a mixed rating on Steam. Players are forced to lower the settings and rely on gimmicks like DLSS and frame generation to make the game playable. Capcom did promise an update in early April that could address the optimization issues, but players will have to wait and see.
