DEATH NOTE Killer Within, an upcoming social deduction game, is set to land on PS4, PS5 and PC on November 5. Based on popular anime ‘Death Note’, the game is similar to among-us where everyone needs to work together to find the imposter, only this time, players need to find the Death Note.

The game features online play with up to 10 people, who will be divided into two teams with different objectives. The followers of Kira and L needs to take control of Death Note and overpower each other in the process. If L is eliminated, team Kira wins, while Kira getting arrested in the meeting phase will be a victory for L.

“Each role has its own characteristics, allowing you to master a deep sense of strategy and tactical play. Depending on your assigned role, a wide range of strategies can be formulated, and each randomized scenario develops into a high-stakes game of tactics,” the description reveals.

The game is very tactical, as Kira and his followers can switch roles by transferring the Death Note to avoid suspicion while taking down opponents. Playing as L allows the player to put a surveillance camera to look for suspicious activity or start a discussion to deduct Kira and his followers.

PlayStation Plus members get the game for free

For PlayStation Plus Essential members, the game will be available on release to play free of cost. For PC, those who plan on trying the game will likely need to make a purchase. However, price for the game is yet to be revealed across both platforms.

The game does have cross-play across both systems, allowing friends on the other platform to join. The developer, Grounding Inc. recommends voice chat for a better experience. Another thing to note is that the game cannot be played offline, meaning no local lobbies with friends.
