Following a massive failure of Concord, PlayStation has now shut down its entire development studio. Firewalk Studios. The story was first reported by Jason Schreier and shortly after, an update from Firewalk Studios was posted. Alongside Firewalk, Neon Koi, a mobile game studio will also be shut down impacting over 200 jobs total.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen SIE’s Studio Business, we have had to make a difficult decision relating to two of our studios, Neon Koi and Firewalk Studios. After much thought, we have determined the best path forward is to permanently sunset the game and close the studio. I want to thank all of Firewalk for their craftsmanship, creative spirit and dedication,” said PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst.

Rumours regarding Concord returning as a free to play game were floating around after people found multiple new packages on SteamDB. Furthermore, the upcoming gaming anthology from Prime Video ‘Secret Level’ also features Concord.
However, this announcement clearifies that it is a game over for the game. PlayStation likely concluded that the running cost for the game would be much higher to turn into any form of return and profit. The official statement from Firewalk revealed that the entire studio is let go.
