Simple’s Team Falcons start CS2 Shanghai Major RMR with a victory

Team Falcons survive the first match of CS2 Shanghai Major RMR thanks to an incredible clutch by s1mple. The team will now face FAZE Clan in Round 2.

Team Falcons have opened up the CS2 Shanghai Major RMR with a hard-fought victory against ECLOT. This also marks the first-ever professional CS2 victory on LAN for Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev, who also managed to save his team with a crucial 1v2 clutch. Fans believe this is the start of something new for the team.

Pitted against some of the top dogs, including his team NAVI, in the European RMR A, Team Falcons are one of the teams fighting to secure a spot in the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

The Swiss round saw both teams start on equal footing, leaving fans in doubt that their GOAT might have to start with an early loss once again. As the match went into the second half, this feeling started becoming synonymous among the viewers.

Since the match was BO1, it was important to secure the map. At one point, Team Falcons were even left in an intense situation that could have easily become the reason for their loss. At 11-11 scoreline, the Falcons were on force and needed to at least win the round to reach overtime.

Thanks to s1mple and his 1v2 clutch, the team managed to stay alive as ECLOT forced overtime in the next round. Fortunately, the rest of the match went in favour of the Falcons, although hats off to ECLOT for putting on a great performance against some of the best players in Counter-Strike.

The fight isn’t over yet

While the team secured an important victory, they are to face FAZE Clan in the next round. Team Falcons already struggled to keep up against ECLOT and were the only teams that had to play overtime. They are now set to face one of the best teams in CS2.

FAZE Clan defeated Cloud 9 without too much effort and will likely plan on finishing things quickly against Team Falcons. On the other hand, s1mple and the team will be fighting to keep the win streak alive.
