Returning to the competitive Counter-Strike scene with Team Falcons, S1mple’s first tournament saw an early upset. Back-to-back losses at the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 has now resulted in an early elimination for Team Falcons. The team failed to secure even a single map, which was a bit shocking for people looking forward to his return.
The biggest surprise was their initial loss against 3DMAX, a team who have previously faced defeat by the hands of Team Falcons on multiple occasions. The opening match on Anubis saw a rough start for S1mple as he failed multiple duels.
Following a bad start, S1mple recovered and basically carried the entire team on Nuke, but The Falcons still failed to equalize the score and dropped to elimination bracket. Fans did note that the players remained the only one with a positive rating throughout the match.
Fans see potential for S1mple after return
The elimination match for Team Falcons was against Virtus.pro, a seasoned team containing S1mple’s former teammate, electronic. Facing VP on their map, Team Falcons struggled to keep up, resulting in an easy victory for their opponents.

The second map saw a good start for the team only to lose everything in the second half. Once again, S1mple ended up with 23 kills to his name but sadly, it wasn’t enough as other team members were not able to put up a similar performance.
Both matches saw S1mple remain the top fragger for his team, which does reveal that the player still holds great potential. However, his time with Team Falcons has been short and the players yet to get used to his play style.
Team Falcons is set to compete at the ESL Challenger Katowice in the next few days and Shanghai Major European RMR a few weeks later. Fans are hoping that the team will be able to improve coordination.
