When it rains it pours (Image - CS2)
Another huge update to Counter Strike 2 (CS2) brings one of the classic map ‘Train’ with a complete overhaul. That isn’t the only big news, however, as Overpass also received a big overhaul and there is new damage prediction, animation and a lot of other things that Valve usually forgets to mention in the update notes.
First things first, the long awaited Train is back in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes after multiple teasers, and it’s a lot different despite being the same. There are a lot of things removed which some people did not like, but the map is out for a day and the collective response is yet to be measured. The pop dog is no more, and it’s long dog now.

A bomb site doesn’t have a haven any more, and there are also some changes to the entry. The Ivy has also seen an overhaul, and it is now a proper control room. Both A and B side has also seen some shuffle to the ‘Train’ locations, making it much safer for both attackers and defenders. There is also a new map guide for Train, so turn it on during practice.
A map almost as old as Counter-Strike itself returns. All aboard! https://t.co/jN6RO2WdPdpic.twitter.com/yfiseJEZfa

Damage Prediction
There is a new feature called Damage Prediction. As per the notes, this features will provide quicker response to shooting your opponent, even before the server calculation. However, it does come with a risk of ‘occasionally being wrong’. It is turned off by default and can be found in the ‘game’ or ‘new’ section inside settings, and will be disabled on high ping.

Overpass sees a major overhaul
The map which was removed for no apparent reason instead of Vertigo has seen some major changes. The patch notes read ‘Visual updates to canals area and B-site’ which translates into the water being drained completely, so enjoy more fps. It also mentions Performance improvements, which should be apparent after the canal dried up.
