Spectre Divide closed beta application now live (Image - Steam)
Following the most recent announcement and Playtest, the latest entry into the tactical FPS genre, ‘Specter Divide’ will be hosting a closed beta test starting August 13. This is to collect more feedback and provide players with an opportunity to try out the game and draw first impressions.
“Today, I’m excited to announce that Spectre Divide’s Closed Beta starts at 9 am PT on Tuesday, August 13 with servers up 24/7 through 6 pm PT on Wed, August 21,” the Game Director said. While the player's numbers are still limited to keep everything stable, the developers have revealed that they will be ramping up slots each day.
There are currently two ways to participate in the beta test -
- Twitch Drops - Players can watch others play on Twitch and receive an invitation via Twitch Drops. Do note that Pliers will need to link the Spectre Divide account with Twitch.
- Steam Store page - Players can also request access to the beta via the Steam Store page. Although, Twitch Drops will be getting more priority in terms of getting access, however, there is nothing wrong with applying through Steam too.
Players who have access to the Playtest will also have beta invites. The closed beta will be taking place on PC via Steam and currently features three servers, North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. While the progress made during the closed beta will not carry over, participants can get Bad Intentions Spray, Troublemaker Banner and Sinister Smile Charm as a thanks for their contribution.

Spectre Divide is one of the two games that popular streamer and former Counter-Strike pro Shroud has been involved in. The announcement was also made by him and was well received by the community. While few are still in doubt about the success of the game in this competitive environment, the game does bring a fresh take on the tactical shooter genre with a 3v3 game design with each player also getting a spectre to control to make some bold plays.
