PS5 Pro just increased customization cost for fans (Image - Sony)
People who already got access to PS5 Pro are now finding out that the PS5 Slim cover is not compatible with the new console, despite being the same dimensions. This was further confirmed by Sony representative who revealed that covers for PS5 Pro will be made available in future. However, people are not very fond of this decision.
“PS5 console covers are not compatible with PS5 Pro. However, players will be able to swap out different console covers for PS5 Pro when they become available in the future,” a PlayStation representative told IGN. This is obviously quite profitable for them, which fans are calling out, especially who bought the PS5 Pro despite having a PS5.
The reason why people though that the covers would be compatible is likely due to the same disc drive attachment for PS5 Slim and Pro. Sony recently released Chroma Collection which was quite popular among fans. Sadly, since there are compatibility issues, everyone better wait for the official PS5 Pro cover.
SONY MADE THE PS5 SLIM AND PS5 PRO PLATES THE EXACT SAME SIZE AND DIMENSIONS BUT MADE THEM HAVE DIFFERENT INTERLOCKING TEETH TO INTENTIONALLY MAKE THEM NOT COMPATIBLE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. pic.twitter.com/tuRpJCVdct

The reaction from fans regarding this discovery was disappointing, but not something totally unexpected. Sony was the first one to bring the $70 price point for its games. Some even went as far as to call them the Apple of gaming, which might just be true.

PS5 Pro adds small repairability option
Another picture of the PS5 Pro is making rounds across social media, revealing Sony has eased the access to the CMOS Battery for the console. CMOS is present on the motherboard of devices and is an important component to keep things functioning by storing information like BIOS settings, system time and date and other things.
If your settings are messed up on booting up the device, it might be the CMOS battery dying. It can also cause other issues. Having quick access to it inside PS5 Pro will come in handy. However, in the majority of the cases, the CMOS will likely last till the device expires.
