The release date for PS5 Pro dawns closer and Sony has been updating their games to add new graphic enhancements and settings for a better experience. Insomniac Games recently announced the update for Spider-Man 2 that will allow the game to take advantage of the better hardware in PS5 Pro. The addition of Ray Tracing also comes as part of the update.
As per the official release notes for version 1.004.000 the update adds Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro mode for the PS5 Pro which is set to release on November 7. Spider-Man 2 isn’t the only game in the pipeline, as version 1.005.000 for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart also received the same updates.

Here are the new graphical additions -
- Performance Pro - The most marketed feature for PS5 Pro that focuses on providing players a smooth 60 fps performance without the loss in image quality using the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This mode also has ray tracing features on by default.
- Fidelity Pro - This mode allows the game to run in original resolution for even better quality, including better draw distance and visuals, however, the drawback is the much lower 30 fps. The setting can be individually tweaked as per player preference, including disabling or lowering the Ray Tracing quality.
Today, we deployed updates for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that add new visual options for PlayStation 5 Pro, including Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro modes!

New Ray Tracing updates
The graphic toggles include Ray Traced Key Light Shadows, Reflections & Interiors, and Ambient Occlusion. Key Light Shadows removes the cascaded shadow maps for better city views and is only available in Fidelity Pro mode.
As the name suggests, Ray Traced Reflections & Interiors improved the window and interior reflections, while the Ambient Occlusion provides better depths to the environment. Both AO and reflections can be toggled at High and Medium settings. These updates come as part of Sony's move to bring enhanced games to the PS5 Pro.
