PS5 Pro specs leaked (Image - Sony)
The PlayStation 5 (PS5) Pro is already circulating ahead of its release, and it was just a matter of time before someone posted what’s new in the $700 console that would justify the purchase. As per Sony, there is improved hardware to provide a better frame rate while maintaining the visual quality of games.
First spotted by Insider Gaming, the PS5 Pro does seem to have some decent upgrades that can justify the improved performance, including better TFLOPS and increased memory. However, the decision to get the new PS5 ultimately depends on the user.
Here are the leaked specifications for PS5 Pro
CPU: x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 2 architecture with 8-core/16-thread
GPU: RDNA AMD Radeon at 16.7 TFLOPS
Memory: GDDR6 16 GB (Graphics Memory) / DDR5 2 GB (System Memory)
Storage: 2TB
Power: 390W

CPU: x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 2 architecture with 8-core/16-thread (3.5 GHz)
GPU: RDNA AMD Radeon at 10.3 TFLOPS
Memory: GDDR6 16 GB (Graphics Memory)
Storage: 825GB
Power: 350W
The CPU seems to be the same, although, official specs will reveal the clock speed. As for the GPU, it has received a significant boost compared to the base PS5. Along with added DDR5 memory and the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling (PSSR), Sony might be onto something. A few more additions include more USB-C sport along with the addition of Wi-Fi 7 which likely added to the cost.
As per PlayStation, these upgrades in specifications, the PS5 Pro will receive as big as a 45% boost in performance with the added benefit of better ray tracing and cleaner visuals. As per Digital Foundry, the image quality does see an improvement over the base PS5. The official details are yet to be revealed by Sony, which might reveal what more is new.
