Warner Brothers recently announced that Season 5 for MultiVersus will be the last content update, after which, the game will be delisted across all platforms. Those who have the game in their libraries will still be able to download and play offline, but online updates and services will cease after the season concludes on May 30.

While the ability to play offline sounds quite decent, gamers aren’t thrilled, especially after spending over $100 to purchase the founder's edition. The game saw a successful launch as a fighting game which prompted some people to purchase the expensive pack for future characters.

As per the pack description, players would get 30 character tokens which can be used to instantly unlock new characters. Sadly, the game never reached the point of releasing 30 new characters. The saddest part is that no one is getting any form of compensation as Warner Bros. maintains radio silence. This has caused a huge upset among the community.

Gamers not happy with Warner Bros

The frustration of people who spent money on Multiversus is justified. Once the highly rated game is facing a barrage of negative reviews, likely from players who purchased the founder's edition. The game itself was quite fun, however, it had its fair share of problems with players complaining about matchmaking and the general direction of the game with more focus on 2v2.

Back in 2024, the chief financial officer of Warner Bros. ‘Gunnar Wiedenfels’ spoke to IGN revealing that MultiVersus was not as successful as it listed as one of the major reasons behind the $100 million write-off. 2024 in general wasn’t too good for the company as Suicide Squad also resulted in a massive $200 million loss.
