Another life service game for PlayStation has been cancelled. A Horizon MMO game, codenamed ‘Project H’ that was under development by NCSoft is the one getting the axe this time. The decision reportedly came from Sony who have also cancelled two more live service titles in the past few weeks.
The report came from a South Korean website MTN and was reported by Insider Gaming. NCSoft, the studio working on the Horizon MMO joined hands with PlayStation back in 2023. The information regarding the game started spreading after multiple job listings were posted under Project H.
It is unclear why the game was shelved, but the decision was reportedly made last year meaning this could be one of the first casualties following Concord. There is another Horizon online game under development by Guerrilla Games which is separate from the aforementioned Horizon MMO game. The online multiplayer game is still under development and on track, although there is no release date yet.

Sony doing opposite of what they announced for PlayStation
With three games now revealed to be cancelled, all of them being live-service titles, it’s hard to tell Sony’s game plan. The company did show excitement toward live-service games, but the reports are suggesting something else.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Sony cancelled two more games, one was in the God of War franchise under development Bluepoint by while another unknown title by Bend Studio hit the bucket. Both games were set to be live-service titles.
This has left many wondering why Sony and PlayStation are pushing for these games instead of making single-player titles which they are popular for. Perhaps the company is only going ahead with games where they see potential. There are still some live-service unannounced games under development and people are curious to see which one will finally see the light.
